Rahul Bharti is a world-renowned teacher and healer. Of Indian origin, he lived at the age of eight with a tribe of Shamanic Gypsies on the island of Sri Lanka. Several years later, he and father travelled to Thailand, where Rahul began to learn Nuad Boran. He eventually became a teacher at the Old Medical Hospital in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but later married and settled in Kathmandu. There, he began his own school, the Healing Hands Centre, attracting students from all over the world. Working from Nepal allowed him to teach small groups individually, in opposition to the crowded classrooms of Chiang Mai. Daniel studied alongside just one other student. When not teaching, Rahul offers his therapies to the people of Kathmandu, and travels to other parts of the world to lead courses, working with, amongst others, the American Olympic Ski Team.
Living and studying with Rahul in the suburbs of Kathmandu, in a building that previously been used as a Buddhist Study Centre, Daniel experienced Singing Bowl Therapy, Energy Balancing and Shamanic Journeying. An integral part of Rahul’s teaching was that traditional and allopathic medicine were equally essential to health, and that therapy should be practiced not for personal gain, but for the good of those that need it. To this end, Rahul took in one person at a time who had suffered serious debilitating injuries, and together with his students worked daily with them, demonstrating the remarkable power of Nuad Boran and holistic therapy.
