About the practitioner - Daniel Allison

Daniel grew up in East Lothian and went to school in Edinburgh. Interested since early childhood in creativity and exploration, at the age of eighteen he travelled to Uganda, working first as a teacher and later on a chimpanzee habituation project. After moving to the South of England at the age of nineteen, Daniel developed a strong interest in Buddhism, meditation and shamanism. Stemming from meditation classes and a university course on the Shamanic Consciousness with Professor Brian Bates, author of The Way of Wyrd, Daniel went on to explore his own ideas about shamanism, consciousness-exploration, creativity and self-healing in his study of Creative Writing at Chichester College.
Daniel discovered Nuad Boran on a trip to Thailand in 2004, but did not study it until he met his teacher, Rahul Bharti, in Nepal in 2006. Prior to their meeting, Daniel had been spending a year travelling throughout India, living at one time with a community of Tibetan refugees and another in a forest meditation commune.
